The most commonly used deletion, deletion, and anonymization techniques by "NUCLEUS GENETICS" are listed below:
14.8.3.1. Deletion Methods
| Methods for Deleting Personal Data Stored in Printed Format | |||
| Blackout | Personal data in printed form is deleted using the redaction method. Redaction involves cutting out the personal data on the relevant document whenever possible, or, if this is not possible, rendering it invisible using permanent ink in a way that cannot be reversed or read using technological solutions. | ||
| Deletion Methods for Personal Data Stored in Cloud and On-Site Digital Environments | |||
| Securely deleting from software. | Personal data stored in the cloud or on local digital platforms is deleted via digital command in a way that makes it impossible to recover. Data deleted in this manner cannot be accessed again. |
14.8.3.2. Disposal Methods
| Methods for Deleting Personal Data Stored in Printed Format | |||
| Physical annihilation | Printed documents are destroyed in document shredders in a way that prevents them from being reassembled. | ||
| Methods for Deleting Personal Data Held in Local Digital Environments | |||
| Physical annihilation | This refers to the physical destruction of optical and magnetic media containing personal data, such as melting, burning, or pulverizing. Data is rendered inaccessible through processes such as melting, burning, pulverizing, physically cutting and/or drilling, or passing through a metal grinder. | ||
| Demagnetization (degaussing) | This process involves exposing magnetic media to a high magnetic field, thereby rendering the data on it unreadable. | ||
| Writing on it | The process of writing random data consisting of at least seven zeros and ones onto magnetic and rewritable optical media prevents the reading and recovery of old data. | ||
| Methods for Deleting Personal Data Stored in the Cloud | |||
| Securely deleting from software. | Personal data stored in the cloud is digitally deleted in a way that makes it impossible to recover, and all copies of the encryption keys necessary to make the personal data usable when the cloud computing service relationship ends are destroyed. Data deleted in this way cannot be accessed again. |
14.8.3.3. Anonymization Methods
Anonymization is the process of rendering personal data in such a way that it cannot be linked to an identified or identifiable natural person, even when combined with other data.
| Extracting variables | This involves removing one or more direct identifiers from the personal data of the data subject that could be used to identify that person in any way. | This method can be used to anonymize personal data, or to delete information from personal data that is not relevant to the purpose of data processing. |
| Regional concealment | This is the process of deleting information that could distinguish an exceptional piece of data from a data table where personal data is collected and anonymized. | |
| Generalization | It is the process of gathering personal data from many individuals, removing distinguishing information, and converting it into statistical data. | |
| Lower and upper limit coding / Global coding | For a given variable, ranges belonging to that variable are defined and categorized. If the variable does not contain a numerical value, then data points within the variable that are close to each other are categorized. | Values within the same category are combined. |
| Micro-assembly | In this method, all records in the dataset are first sorted in a meaningful order, and then the entire set is divided into a certain number of subsets. Next, the average of the values of a specified variable in each subset is calculated, and the subset's value for that variable is replaced with the average value. This distorts the implicit identifiers within the data, making it more difficult to associate the data with a specific person. | |
| Data hashing and corruption | Direct or indirect identifiers within personal data are mixed with other values or distorted to sever their connection to the data subject and cause them to lose their identifying characteristics. |
“NUCLEUS GENETİK” uses one or more of the aforementioned anonymization methods to anonymize personal data, depending on the nature of the data. When using these anonymization methods, “NUCLEUS GENETİK” may utilize K-Anonymity, L-Diversity, and T-Proximity statistical methods.
